  • Do you still have space?  Are your camps sold out?  Can I be added to your waitlist?

The easiest way to check for this information during open registrations (early January until the Thursday before the camp week) is to create and/or log into our registration site. https://beauvoir.campbrainregistration.com/

If you add the week that you are interested in for your individual child to your cart, then you will see what is still open or has a waitlist for your child.  You can add all weeks to check them all.

You generally have two waitlist options.  You can just waitlist for the specific camp group or you can be added to the waitlist for that camp group and register for another camp group for that same week if something else is open.   You will only be contacted if a space opens up for you.
  • Check Your Registrations

You can always log into your CampBrain account to check your registrations:

After you log in, you can go into View Details under Summer:

A summary of all your registrations, payments, paid invoices, etc. can be found on that page.
  • Paying for Camp (including registration changes and refund policy)

As we all navigate these unprecedented times, we remain hopeful that the pool, swim lessons, and summer camp will be able to open as scheduled. We continue to follow the health recommendations for the community and the safety of our members comes first. If we have to postpone or cancel, we will issue prorated or full refunds dependent on the case.  Otherwise, the current cancellation/refund policies for each program are in place.

COVID UPDATE, April 10, 2020: The original deadline below of April 30, 2020 has been extended to May 15, 2020. We will post further updates as we have them.

    Tuition Deadline
Payment must be made in full by April 30, 2020, or the child’s place in camp will be forfeited. Registration requires a $200 non-refundable or transferrable deposit at the time of registration, as well as a $50 registration fee per camper. Balances for all programs are due by April 30. All deposits are non-refundable and payments are non-refundable after April 30.

For questions pertaining to summer tuition payments, contact our Camp Director, Caroline Maffry at caroline.maffry@cathedral.org or 202-537-5264 or Assistant Director, Mairim Wales, mairim.wales@cathedral.org or 202-537-2313.

Paying by check can be arranged through Sandy Revelo (Sandy.Revelo@cathedral.org) in the Business Office. You are required to put in a credit card online at registration (plus the initial deposit must be made by credit card). For the remaining balance, checks must be received and cleared before April 30, otherwise the card on file will be charged on April 30. For detailed information, please see the Parent Handbook.

Please note: Beauvoir Summer does not offer financial aid to campers who are not current Beauvoir students already receiving financial aid for tuition. Current Beauvoir families may apply for summer financial aid. The deadline to submit a registration eligible for receiving financial aid will be by March 30, 2020.

    Registration Changes and Change Fees
There are no fees to add programs. Before April 30, changes may be made to a camper’s schedule based on availability and no additional fee is incurred. After April 30, any changes to an existing registration will result in a $25 administrative fee. This includes: switching sessions of the same program; switching to a different program for a week for which you have already registered; and switching to an entirely new week and program. No switches can be made when registered for an outside vendor once the program has begun. All balances are due April 30. After April 30, in addition to the $25 administrative fee, any program balance must be paid in full at the time the change is made. Full payment is due April 30 and no refunds are available after that date. This policy applies to Extended Day programs as well.

    Refund Policy
Refunds of deposits are made only in the event that there are no openings available in a program you selected, or a program is canceled. If you cancel registration on or before April 30, tuition fees less the $250 payment ($50 registration fee and $200 deposit) will be refunded. If registration is canceled after April 30, 2020, all fees will be forfeited. There are no refunds for absences.

Beauvoir reserves the right to dismiss any camper whose behavior is not consistent with the expectations of the Beauvoir Summer Program.
  • Account Statement for your Dependent Care FSA or Other Tax Needs

You can go into your CampBrain account (https://beauvoir.campbrainregistration.com/) and go into View My Registrations for Summer.  Once you click on View Details, you'll see a link to download Season Account Statement as a PDF.  It will have the full summer registration details including our Tax ID number on the bottom
  • Health & Camp Forms

Your child’s safety and health are Beauvoir Summer’s top concerns. Beauvoir Summer provides a camp nurse on site during the seven weeks of camp. Beauvoir Summer requires that your camper have a valid health form with an immunization record on file while attending camp. If you need to reach the camp nurse, please feel free to contact the camp director via email or telephone at (202) 537-2938.
    Health Forms:
Beauvoir Summer uses CampBrain to maintain health records for campers. The doctor signed camper health information and immunization record can be uploaded through CampBrain. It is the same site used for camp registration.

If you are a Beauvoir family, you will need to upload your form to CampBrain. It will not automatically transfer from Magnus. You can download from Magnus and upload your form to CampBrain.

Click here to download a copy of the DC Health Form.
  • Camp with a Friend

If you would like your child to be placed in the same camp group as a friend, please indicate that information in the “Camp/Friend Request” section during your registration. We make every possible effort to fulfill this request.

Please note: for our Fireflies and Bluejays campers that are offered full-day and half-day camp options, friend request cannot be accommodated between full-day and half-day options because campers are divided into separate groups.
  • What to Wear & Bring to Camp

Since play is a priority, children are asked to dress comfortably. Sneakers and socks are recommended for daily outdoor play. A camper may be limited in activities without the appropriate footwear.

The following items should be brought each day, with your child’s name clearly labeled:
    • a complete change of clothing in a large Ziploc bag with the child's name on the outside
    • a water bottle filled with water
    • sunscreen
    • swimwear and towel, if camper has swim included with their camp
    • any items they may want for the pool (aqua socks, goggles, floaties, etc.)
    • a hat
    • sunglasses (optional)
    • a backpack to hold everything
Full day campers will have access to a cubby in their classrooms to store their belongings during their camp session.  Campers participating in half day programs will also have use of the cubbies, but will take their belongings with them when they go from an AM to a PM camp.

Under no circumstances are campers allowed to bring valuables, weapons, card collections or electronic devices. Beauvoir is not responsible for lost items. Lost and Found Items not claimed by the last day of camp will be given to local charitable organizations.
  • Meals at Camp

Snack and lunch will be provided to full-day campers and morning half-day campers by Meriwether Godsey Dining Service

Please note that some allergies and dietary restrictions can be accommodated. There are always daily vegetarian options on the menu. The camp is peanut and tree nut free but we may have snacks that are processed in nut facilties.

Parents are always welcome to send their child to camp with a lunch or alternate snacks for any reason if they so desire, we just ask that parents respect the fact that Beauvoir Summer is nut-free.

Click here for Summer 2020 Camp Menu.

  • Drop Off & Pick-Up Procedures

Detailed procedures and guidelines are in the Handbook linked above. Please read through it carefully.

Parents can drop their camper off via the carpool line starting promptly at 8:30 a.m. (except for June 15, the first day of camp) or park and walk in. Counselors and CITs will escort campers from the carpool line to their camp rooms. To ensure a smooth arrival, please have your camper get out on the sidewalk side of the road.
For dismissal, parents have the option to pick up using the carpool line and display the PICK UP AUTHORIZATION CARD (sent via email to registered families) in your car window OR walk to the outside of Taylor Hall where your child will be dismissed to you from the doors on the side of the building. Letting the camp know of a dismissal change prior to 2:00 p.m. is paramount to a speedy dismissal system.
Half-day camper pickups will be required to walk in and pick up from the main foyer.
  • Parking and Parent Parking Permit

Parking is available on campus in designated Beauvoir School parking spaces. Parents and caretakers should park only in available legal parking spaces when on the Cathedral grounds. When parking on campus, please display a summer camp parking permit in your car window available here.

Parking is limited, but you can also park in the Cathedral underground parking garage. Please enter and exit the garage from the main entrance off of Wisconsin Avenue. Pull a ticket and Beauvoir will validate parking for up to three hours during business hours.
  • Swimming at Camp

Under the direction of Beauvoir Summer’s Swim Director, all full-day camps, our half-day Fireflies, half-day Bluejays, and half-day Splash & Play options will enjoy swimming at Beauvoir’s outdoor pool located on campus. In small groups, campers are instructed at their appropriate swim level. Throughout the week, campers will also play water games and have supervised free play during their 30-minute daily swim period. Children enrolled in the Fireflies Program will have a 30-minute splash time at Beauvoir’s toddler pool.

The Beauvoir Pool has certified lifeguards on duty throughout the camp day. To view all of Beauvoir Summer's swim options, click here.
  • Swimming Instruction Before & After Camp (AM & PM Swim)

Parents can register their camper for swim lessons either before or after camp for a half-hour group lesson as an add-on camp day option. The before and after camp group will have additional time to refine the skills they are learning during the camp day. To view all of Beauvoir Summer's swim options, click here.
  • Before & After Camp Care

Extended camp care is available before camp from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. or after camp from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. During this time, children will enjoy a more relaxed program including outdoor play, snack, indoor arts and crafts, and other games. Time is also devoted to quiet relaxation and group activities.

Pre-registration is required and a drop-in option cannot be accommodated during summer camp. Click here for more information.
  • Camper Photographs and Social Media

We reserve the right to use photographs/videos taken during our summer sessions in Beauvoir Summer advertisements, marketing materials and through social media. Children will not be identified by name.

If you do not want photos of your child(ren) used for these purposes, please write a note to the Summer Director (caroline.maffry@cathedral.org).

A parent photo gallery will be available for parents during summer 2020.
