  • Parent Handbook

Our Parent Handbook has a wealth of information regarding camp policies and procedures. We ask that all families read through the detailed notification before their children start camp with us.

Please click here to download the 2022 Parent Handbook. In addition, a 2023 Parent Handbook is coming soon.
  • Registering for Camp

Registration is an online process through our registration portal CampBrain. If you have a CampBrain account from a previous year, you may access the same account for summer registration 2023. If you have forgotten your password, please click the link for PASSWORD RESET on CampBrain.

If you are new to registering with Beauvoir, please proceed to the NEW USER SIGN-UP. Unfortunately, you will not be able to create an account until registration is open.

Admission to the program is on a first-come, first-served basis. We reserve the right to close registration for programs filled or cancel under-enrolled programs.

Registration requires a non-refundable $200 deposit at the time of registration and a $50 registration fee per camper. The remaining balances for all camp programs are due by April 29. More details, including our Refund Policy, can be found in the Paying for Camp tab below.
  • Grade Level Equivalents for International Campers

We understand that some of our campers will be coming for overseas. Since our camp groups are based on the U.S. Grade level, we advise looking at grade level equivalent charts to know which camps are available for your child.

  • Do you still have space?  Are your camps sold out?  Can I be added to your waitlist?

The easiest way to check for this information during open registrations (January until the Thursday before the camp week) is to create and/or log into our registration site. https://beauvoir.campbrainregistration.com/

If you add the session that you are interested in for your individual child to your cart, then you will see what is still open or has a waitlist for your child.  You can add all sessions to check them all.

You generally have two waitlist options.  You can just waitlist for the specific camp group or you can be added to the waitlist for that camp group and register for another camp group for that same week if something else is open.   You will only be contacted if a space opens up for you.
  • Check Your Registrations

You can always log into your CampBrain account to check your registrations:
    https://beauvoir.campbrainregistration.com/Home/Landing

After you log in, you can go into View Details under Summer:
REGISTER FOR NEW REGISTRATION/VIEW MY PAST REGISTRATIONS

A summary of all your registrations, payments, paid invoices, etc. can be found on that page.
  • Paying for Camp (including registration changes and refund policy)

    Tuition Deadline
Payment must be made in full by April 29, 2023, or the child’s place in camp will be forfeited. Registration requires a $200 non-refundable or transferrable deposit at the time of registration and a $50 registration fee per camper. Balances for all programs are due by April 29. All deposits are non-refundable, and payments are non-refundable after April 29.

For questions about summer tuition payments, contact our Camp Director and Associate Director, Drew Mackay  and Tamira Guevara, at BSummer@cathedral.org or 202-537-6487

Paying by check can be arranged through Mairim Wales (MWales@cathedral.org) in the Business Office. You must enter a credit card online at registration (plus the initial deposit must be made by credit card). For the remaining balance, checks must be received and cleared before April 29. Otherwise, the card on file will be charged on April 29. For detailed information, please see the Parent Handbook.

Please note: Beauvoir Summer does not offer financial aid to campers who are not current Beauvoir students already receiving financial assistance for tuition. However, current Beauvoir families may apply for summer financial aid. The deadline to submit a registration eligible for financial assistance will be by March 15, 2023.

    Registration Changes and Change Fees
There are no fees to add programs. Before April 29, changes may be made to a camper’s schedule based on availability and no additional costs incurred. After April 29, any changes to an existing registration will result in a $25 administrative fee. This includes: switching sessions of the same program, switching to a different program for a session for which you have already registered, and switching to an entirely new session and program. No switches can be made when written for an outside vendor once the program has begun. All balances are due on April 29. After April 29, in addition to the $25 administrative fee, any program balance must be paid in full when the change is made. Full payment is due April 29; no refunds are available after that date. This policy applies to Extended Day programs as well.

    Refund Policy
Refunds of deposits are made only if no openings are available in a program you selected or a program is canceled. If you cancel the registration on or before April 29, tuition fees minus the $250 payment ($50 registration fee and $200 deposit) will be refunded. All fees will be forfeited if registration is canceled after April 29, 2022. There are no refunds for absences.

Beauvoir reserves the right to dismiss any camper whose behavior is not consistent with the expectations of the Beauvoir Summer Program.
  • Account Statement for your Dependent Care FSA or Other Tax Needs

You can go into your CampBrain account (https://beauvoir.campbrainregistration.com/) and go into View My Registrations for Summer.  Once you click on View Details, you'll see a link to download Season Account Statement as a PDF.  It will have the full summer registration details including our Tax ID number on the bottom
  • Health & Camp Forms

Your child’s safety and health are Beauvoir Summer’s top concerns. Beauvoir Summer provides a camp nurse on-site during the six weeks of camp. Beauvoir Summer requires that your camper have a valid health form with an immunization record on file while attending camp. If you need to reach the camp nurse, please feel free to contact the camp leadership team at BSummer@cathedral.org or 202-537-6487

    Health Forms:
Beauvoir Summer uses CampBrain to maintain health records for campers. The doctor-signed camper health information and immunization record can be uploaded through CampBrain. It is the same site used for camp registration.

If you are a Beauvoir family, you must upload your form to CampBrain. It will not automatically transfer from Magnus. However, you can download it from Magnus and upload your document to CampBrain.

Click here to download a copy of the DC Health Form.
  • Camp with a Friend

If you would like your child to be placed in the same camp group as a friend, please indicate that information in the “Camp/Friend Request” section during your registration. We make every possible effort to fulfill this request and ask that you make no more than two requests.

Please note: for our Fireflies and Bluejays campers that are offered full-day and half-day camp options, friend requests cannot be accommodated between full-day and half-day options because campers are divided into separate groups.
  • What to Wear & Bring to Camp

Since play is a priority, children are asked to dress comfortably. Sneakers and socks are recommended for daily outdoor play. A camper may be limited in activities without the appropriate footwear.

The following items should be brought each day, with your child’s name clearly labeled:
    • a complete change of clothing in a large Ziploc bag with the child's name on the outside
    • a water bottle filled with water
    • sunscreen
    • swimwear and towel, if camper has swim included with their camp
    • any items they may want for the pool (aqua socks, goggles, floaties, etc.)
    • a hat
    • sunglasses (optional)
    • a backpack to hold everything
Full day campers will have access to a cubby in their classrooms to store their belongings during their camp session.

Under no circumstances are campers allowed to bring valuables, weapons, card collections or electronic devices. Beauvoir is not responsible for lost items. Lost and Found Items not claimed by the last day of camp will be given to local charitable organizations.
  • Meals at Camp

Meriwether Godsey Dining Service will provide snacks and lunch to full-day campers and morning half-day campers.

Please note that some allergies and dietary restrictions can be accommodated, and there are always vegetarian options on the menu. Also, the camp is peanut and tree-nut-free, but we may have snacks processed in the nut facility.

Parents are always welcome to send their child to camp with lunch or alternate snacks for any reason if they so desire; we ask that parents respect the fact that Beauvoir Summer is nut-free.

Click here for a sample  Camp Menu.

  • Drop Off & Pick-Up Procedures

Detailed procedures and guidelines are in the Handbook linked above. Please read through it carefully. Additional policies and procedures related to covid-19 guidelines will be updated closer to the start of summer.

Parents can drop their camper off via the carpool line starting promptly at 9:00 a.m. (8:30 for the Make-Your-Own-Adventure Camps) or park and head to the walk-up area. Counselors will escort campers from the carpool line to their camp rooms. Please get your trailer out on the sidewalk side of the road to ensure a smooth arrival.

For dismissal, parents can pick up using the carpool line and display the PICK-UP AUTHORIZATION CARD (sent via email to registered families) in their car window OR walk to the designated walk-up area. Letting the camp know of a dismissal change before 1:00 p.m. is paramount to a speedy dismissal system.

Half-day camper pickups will be required to walk to the walk-up area.
  • Parking

Parking is available on campus in designated Beauvoir School parking spaces. Parents and caretakers should park only in available legal parking spaces when on the Cathedral grounds.

Parking is limited, but you can also park in the Cathedral underground parking garage. Please enter and exit the garage from the main entrance off of Wisconsin Avenue. Pull a ticket and Beauvoir will validate parking for up to three hours during business hours.
  • Swimming at Camp

Additional policies and procedures related to covid-19 guidelines will be updated closer to the start of summer.

Under the direction of Beauvoir Summer’s Swim Director, all full-day camps and our half-day Fireflies options will enjoy swimming at Beauvoir’s outdoor pool located on campus. In small groups, campers are instructed at their appropriate swim level. Throughout the week, campers will also play water games and have supervised free play during their swim period. Children enrolled in the Fireflies Program will have a 30-minute splash time at Beauvoir’s toddler pool throughout the week.
  • Camper Photographs and Social Media

We reserve the right to use photographs/videos taken during our summer sessions in Beauvoir Summer advertisements, marketing materials, and social media. Children will not be identified by name.

Please write a note to the Summer Director if you do not want photos of your child(ren) used for these purposes.

A parent photo gallery will be available for parents during the summer of 2023.
