About Beauvoir Summer

Beauvoir Summer History

Being established in the early 1940s, camp at Beauvoir has a long history.  At that time, children were bussed to other local pools. The Beauvoir Pool opened in the summer of 1955.  We said goodbye to that pool at the end of the 2014 camp season. Our new state of the art pool, built just a few years ago in 2015, was relocated just a little over from the old pool.

Our campus, buildings, and programs may have been updated since the 1940s, but happy experiences and memories are still what's important.  Exploring, trying new things, and being good citizens will always be part of our values.  We still also look at our own school's mission as we continue to bring our camp forward.

Beauvoir's Mission
At Beauvoir, the National Cathedral Elementary School, we provide an extraordinary early childhood education in a diverse community that values every individual. Beauvoir’s program encourages creative, courageous learners and builds an enduring foundation for a lifelong spirit of inquiry and joy in learning.
