Swimming at Camp
Beauvoir campers of all ages have the opportunity to enhance their swimming skills through group instruction. Grouped by skill, campers learn a variety of swim techniques, practice water-safety skills and play fun water games.
A variety of swim techniques are offered to best match the skills of each child. The Swim Staff is able to adapt their teaching approaches to the age, experience and ability of campers, so they can meet course objectives while having fun. Younger children are gradually introduced to the shallow end of the pool where their confidence grows through fun water activities. Experienced swimmers refine familiar strokes, learn new ones and practice water-safety skills.
All swimming instruction will be taught by Beauvoir swim staff under the watchful eyes of our lifeguards. Instructional swim consists of 20 minutes of swim instruction and 10 minutes of free swim. Our Swim Staff provides a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for our campers and are familiar with Red Cross swim levels and water safety practice and is CPR/AED and First Aid certified.
