By the end of the week, campers should have a better focus and understanding of their objectives in the game and how to execute them properly. Our intermediate courses will be prepared for the tournament level and guide you through the competitive process of becoming a rated chess player.   Campers are inspired to create using the design thinking method through Minecraft. They can propose a problem, define a goal, ideate, and test their structures with the materials provided. Students can use Minecraft to help them learn how to tackle complex projects and obtain the materials they need to finish a task; Minecraft camp encourages problem-solving through teamwork.

  Campers are encouraged to develop their mental, physical, and social abilities through creative soccer games and other activities. Students learn individual skills, teamwork, and, most importantly, have fun! We emphasize mastery of essential coordination and improved agility with and without a soccer ball while providing a confidence-building environment. Each practice finishes with small scrimmages (i.e., 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 & 4v4).

   

  The soccer camp also provides a little variety to each child's camp experience. Therefore, we wanted to Incorporate other sporting activities/games into each session to give campers a variety of sporting activities to guarantee each child a great, high-energy, and fulfilling week of camp!

   

  Children will focus on mastering their touch on the ball. This touch quality means no sports skill involving a ball that a player can not learn. Therefore, training methods and activities will be centered on the young athlete.

Get your creative juices flowing in this project-based program, where you will identify the need for an invention, think on your feet, and create structures and solutions.   Campers learn the art of persuasion and help select debate topics they find interesting. In a public forum debate format, campers work in groups and practice their debating skills in a supportive environment, including developing arguments, issuing rebuttals, providing examples, rebuilding their case, and summarizing points of view. Campers learn to think on their feet and enhance their public-speaking skills, gaining self-confidence in the learning process.

  If your Tiny Chef dreams of someday having a restaurant, sign them up for this inventive summer camp! Each day the students will produce a different course (appetizer, soup, main dish, or dessert) or an item from a specific cuisine and build a restaurant around it. Over the week, they will also be working on a final idea for their restaurant, expanding on the types of foods their particular restaurant would serve based on the experiences they have had in class. In addition, we will introduce various cuisines, cooking skills, and presentations throughout the week.

  Who doesn’t love building creativity?! Nothing is better than the limitless creativity we all feel when left to our devices with a bin of Legos. In this camp, we will build upon this excitement by teaching Lego enthusiasts about engineering – how to make a plan, execute it, reflect upon it, and make changes for next time. Then, tapping into our executive functioning skills, we will use our imaginations to build innovations while learning about the classics (Eiffel Tower, Burj Khalifa, Big Ben, etc.!).

  Cupcakes are all the rage, and it’s a trend that’s here to stay! So, if you’ve been curious about how the pros make those cupcakes so precious and ornate, and if competition is your middle name, this is the week for you!  We’ll spend three days on cupcake basics - measuring, mixing, baking, and frosting, and then finish the week with two days of baking battle! Then, small teams will face off with one another to compete for the “Best Cupcake!”.  May the best cupcake win!

Exploring everything from sports to fancier occasions, we will sketch and create accessories such as sneakers, baseball caps, and more. In addition, designers will build their brand, logo, and lookbook to present at the end of the week.

  In Robotics camp we build, code, and have fun with LEGO® WeDo 2.0, a hands-on activity that combines LEGO® bricks, kid-friendly software, and engaging projects which inspire kids to explore the world of robotics! Students use gears, pulleys, and axles to create robots that move, crank, spin, and communicate.  At the end of the camp, each child takes home a T-shirt.

  This two week math program is designed to help your summer student not only retain what they have learned when it comes to math but progress with their mathematical thinking, understanding and problem-solving with a carefully crafted curriculum. This focused and structured camp will help combat the “summer slip” that some students experience when school is out of session. This summer session is designed for rising 1st - 3rd graders.

  Kid cooks, bakers, and chefs have joined the ranks of elimination-style cooking contests, and here at Tiny Chefs, we are getting in on the action! In this exciting session, campers will be separated into rotating teams, and each team will create recipes that the instructors judge in a blind taste test with preset criteria. Each day the teams will create three items; 2 recipes will be a head-to-head competition making the same item. The 3rd item will be similar recipes with slightly different ingredients—Farmers Market Pasta Salad vs. Pesto Pasta Salad with Summer Veggies, for example. May the best team win!

  Cupcakes have been the baked item of choice for several years now, and the Tiny Chefs’ version of Cupcake Wars has been so popular we have had to create a “sequel” to introduce new recipes and competitions. In Cupcake Wars 2.0, we have gathered cupcake recipes that double breakfast foods or drinks (what?!!?) and tried regional and international cuisines. On top of that, we have included savory cupcakes! Don’t worry; campers will still be competing in rotating small groups and learning decorating techniques.

  Campers will join our Box Turtles (rising 1st) or Koalas (rising 2nd-3rd) day programs for a morning or afternoon session. Activities include outdoor play, exploration, and a variety of camp games and activities. This option also includes swim instruction at the Beauvoir Pool.
