Summer 2021

Weekend Swim Lessons
We are hopeful that we can offer a very limited number of group lessons on weekend mornings prior to opening the pool to members. These groups will be a maximum of 5 children. Children must have turned five years old by the start of the swim lesson. No exceptions will be made. Any registration of a child younger than five years old will result in an automictic cancellation. More information will be forthcoming in May 2021.

Private Swim lessons

At this time, we are not planning to allow or offer any private lesson for summer 2021.

Swimming at Camp

Beauvoir campers of all ages have the opportunity to enhance their swimming skills through group instruction. Grouped by skill, campers learn a variety of swim techniques, practice water-safety skills and play fun water games.

A variety of swim techniques are offered to best match the skills of each child. The Swim Staff is able to adapt their teaching approaches to the age, experience and ability of campers, so they can meet course objectives while having fun. Younger children are gradually introduced to the shallow end of the pool where their confidence grows through fun water activities. Experienced swimmers refine familiar strokes, learn new ones and practice water-safety skills.

All swimming instruction will be taught by Beauvoir swim staff under the watchful eyes of our lifeguards. Instructional swim consists of 20 minutes of swim instruction and 10 minutes of free swim. Our Swim Staff provides a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for our campers and are familiar with Red Cross swim levels and water safety practice and is CPR/AED and First Aid certified.

Before & After Camp Group Swim Instruction

Morning and afternoon swim instruction is available to any full or half-day camper attending Beauvoir Summer as an add-on registration option before camp for our Fireflies and Blue Jays from 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and after camp for other campers from 3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Before Camp Swim
Campers enrolled in our youngest Fireflies (Rising PreK 3-4) and Blue Jays (Rising K) program are offered a swimming instruction option prior to the start of the camp day. Campers participating in morning swim are dropped off directly at the pool by a parent or guardian by 8:00 a.m. ready to swim. They will be escorted to their camp classrooms after their lesson at 9:00 a.m. by their swim instructor.

After Camp Swim
Campers enrolled in all other programs from Blue Jays (Rising K) through Brown Bears (Rising 5th grade), are offered a swimming instruction after the end of the regular camp day. Campers participating in afternoon swim will be walked to the pool by Beauvoir Swim Staff at 3:00 p.m. and picked up directly from the pool by a parent or caregiver at 3:30 p.m.
Weekday Private lessons & Weekend Group Swim Lessons are also available. Please see tabs on the Beauvoir Pool page for pricing and more detailed information.
