Beauvoir is pleased to extend pool memberships to Beauvoir families, neighbors and friends.  The 25 meter pool and toddler pool are located behind Beauvoir on the grounds of the Washington National Cathedral and will be open from Saturday, May 29 to Monday, September 6, 2010.  Membership includes the use of the dressing facilities and showers.  Lounge chairs and umbrellas are provided to offer comfort and relaxation within the scenic and refreshing surroundings.  Children are welcome to use the adjacent playground under parent supervision.  Refreshments may be purchased from our snack bar.  Lifeguards are on duty during the hours the pool is open.

Program Rules and Regulations

Caretakers — Family and Beauvoir memberships may include one babysitter or au-pair.  The caretaker must be listed by name on the application.  Caretakers must be 15 years of age or older.

Membership Cards — Two membership cards will be issued to each family or individual.  Cards will be available at the pool beginning Saturday, May 29.   A list of who may enter on any given membership card will be kept at poolside sign-in.  Memberships are nontransferable.

Diapered Children – Due to safety and health concerns, diapered (non-toilet trained) children may use the toddler pool only.  Given the serious nature of the health concerns, infractions of this policy may result in revocation of pool membership. Exception: Children with “Swimmers.”

No Rentals — The Beauvoir pool is not available for rent at any time.

Guests — A membership entitles a family or individual to bring a maximum of two guests to the pool per day.  The guest fee is $5.00 per guest.  Special arrangements may be made for additional guests by calling 202-537-2219 for information.

Lifeguards/Management —  Lifeguards are on duty during pool hours only.  They have full authority to remove from the pool or pool deck members or guests who, in their reasonable judgment, continually disregard pool rules and safety.

Swimming Lessons –  Private swimming lessons may be arranged. For more information please contact Director of Auxiliary Programs, Hugh Squire at 202-537-2313.
