June 28–July 2:  Outdoor Enthusiasts!  Camping, hiking and bird watching are just some of the exciting outdoor hobbies that will show your camper how to enjoy the great outdoors!

July 6–9: Conservation Kids (no camp on Monday)  From recycling to composting to learning how to go green – campers will be making the planet a better place to live!

July 12–16:  Mission: Space!  3, 2, 1 -- Blast off!  Sign up for adventure and out of this world fun – your little astronauts will make rockets, explore the stars, and maybe even have an alien encounter!

July 19–23:  Storybook Adventures!  Open up your favorite book and dive right in!  Classic children’s storybooks and characters will pop off the page this week as your camper brings his favorite fiction to life through crafts, games, cooking and role-playing!

July 26–July 30:  Dinosaur Discoveries!  Travel back in time as the Beauvoir Summer Program visits the land of the dinosaurs – be ready to dig for bones and find fossils; but keep your eyes peeled for any dinos roaming around the Close!

August 2–6:  Globe Trekkers!  Grab your passport and pack your suitcase – this camp is off to explore exotic lands in faraway countries and scenic cities around the globe!

The Fireflies Class is designed to provide three and young four year olds with a half- or full day of activities that emphasize social and emotional growth and encourage exploration of the physical in a safe and nurturing environment. Fireflies explore weekly themes through games, music, stories, dramatic play, crafts and activities. Fireflies also have an opportunity to participate in resources including art, cooking, music/drama and science; as well as water play in Beauvoir’s on-site wading pool.

Beauvoir’s counselors have early childhood experience and are committed to developing a child’s sense of self-worth. They also understand that children have an innate sense of wonder about the world around them and a need to explore their surroundings in a safe and nurturing setting. It is the goal of every counselor to provide that opportunity for all of our campers.

All Fireflies must be three years old by May 1, 2010 and must be fully toilet trained. No exceptions will be made. We strongly encourage that children who turn four before January 2010 be enrolled in the Camp Adventures program.
