The Fireflies program is designed to provide three to four year olds with a half or full day of activities that emphasize social and emotional growth and encourage exploration of the physical world in a safe and nurturing environment. Fireflies explore weekly themes through games, music, stories, dramatic play, crafts and activities. Fireflies also have an opportunity to participate in resources including art, cooking, science and music/drama, as well as water play in Beauvoir’s onsite wading pool.
Beauvoir’s counselors have early childhood experience and are committed to developing a child’s sense of self-worth. They also understand that children have an innate sense of wonder about the world around them and a need to explore their surroundings in a safe and nurturing setting. It is the goal of every counselor to provide that opportunity for all of our campers.
All Fireflies must be three years old by May 1, 2012 and must be fully toilet trained. No exceptions will be made. We strongly encourage that children who turn four before January 2012 be enrolled in the Blue Jays program.
